Welcome Knights to 2025! The students and staff returned to school on January 6th after a two-week plus one day off. We had a surprise snow day on December 20th. The staff returned refreshed and ready to tackle the rest of 2nd semester. The students arrived back on Monday abuzz with all that they had done on vacation. The morning conversations were filled with catching up on the latest news . Classes slowly got back on track as the students started to head off to the library, art, and Spanish. There were a lot of introductions to new stories, math ideas, and spelling words that could be heard in from the hallways. Soon, recess for our younger students arrived, and the playground was alive with activity. The basketball games, throwing the football and a friendly game of four square. The sounds of laughter and playtime could be heard all around. Ms. Sue, the cook, filled our school with the smells of spicy chicken fajitas. She was tickeled to see all the students as they all came into the gym for lunch. She loved chatting with those in the lunch line and especially the lucky students who got to help with dishes this week. There was a little less pep in the steps after lunch, but the learning continued as the science, social studies and religion lessons were introduced. Through out the day our teachers chalked thier doors as a blessing for the Epiphany. It's amazing to witness all the different ways our students are learning no matter what time of day at SJB. After Mr. Bare gave the afternoon prayers and the bell rang, students filed out of the classrooms back to their families or to the gym for basketball practice. Our SJB Basketball season has begun with the first games Jan 13th at the SJB Gym. We are very excited to see how our boys and girls do this year. See our athletics page for more details of our games. As the week moved on, our classes continued to fall back into a routine. Students all got back into the gym playing pickleball or something similar. Fr. Jay came to celebrate Mass with the school and parish members on Wednesday. It's always so nice to see everyone dressed up for celebrating Mass. Our student council meet on Thursday to get plans in motion for Catholic Schools Week. Having the students suggest and vote on activities makes for a fun week at the end of January. Check out Facebook for some photos from this week.
